About the artwork

This two-metre-tall metal sculpture depicts a young woman with her arms raised, thereby symbolising eternal spring. It was donated to Knokke by the State when the town was awarded the title of ‘Green City 1969’.

About the artist

Christian Leroy is a sculptor, ceramicist, draughtsman and graphic artist. Having studied at LUCA School of Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and Antwerp respectively, he has won numerous prizes over the years.
