Vissersmonument - André Taeckens

Vissershuldeplein
,
8301 Knokke-Heist

About the statue:

Synthetic stone. André Taeckens was inspired by the design of the visual artist Henri De Jaeger (1912-1984) from Heist, an esteemed painter, sculptor and chairman of the local art society Horizon. He managed an art gallery in the Parkstraat (Heist) during summer.

Every year on the last Sunday of Carnival, after Mass in the Sint-Antoniuskerk, an impressive floral tribute is organized at the Vissersmonument (Fisherman's monument).

Purchased in 1964.
