About the statue:
The peculiar wooden Stations of the Cross were something revolutionary at that time. The 14 stations are cut in wooden blocks and only depict hands and faces. Exactly that gives it a special expression.

About the Artist:
This all-round artist (sculptor, painter, ceramist, tapestry designer, and autodidact) settled in his villa in Duinbergen that he designed himself after the Second World War.
He also made the sculpture 'De meeuwen' (the Seagulls) at the Europaplein in Duinbergen.
